Wasn't sure I needed promo tiles until they hit the table, but the 4 research tiles add a nice bit of extra decision space. They're the same thickness as the base game tiles too, so no awkward stacking. Glad I grabbed them during the campaign.
The three research tiles actually slot into the base game without feeling tacked on, and they add a nice bit of variety to the research track. Grabbed them mainly for the Kickstarter extras, but I've used them in every game since.
