Playing all three games back-to-back as one connected saga is exactly what I wanted, and the special goals keep each session from feeling like a repeat. The abilities you carry between games give the whole thing a nice sense of progression.
The campaign mode that links all three games together is what sold me, and it actually works — the shared goals carry your progress from one title to the next instead of resetting everything. Our group of four finished the whole saga in two sittings, which never happens with us.
Took us one long weekend to get through all three games in a single campaign, and the connective goals really made each session feel like it mattered. The way it strings the journeys together without forcing a rules overhaul is exactly what I hoped for.
