『南の道を行く者たち』（Wayfarers of the South Tigris）の目的は、ゲーム終了時に最も多くの勝利点（VP）を獲得したプレイヤーになることです。勝利点は主に、陸地、水路、空を探索して地図を完成させることで獲得できます。また、キャラバンをアップグレードしたり、貴族からひらめきを得たり、科学・交易・探検の3つのギルドに影響を与えることでもポイントを獲得できます。発見をするたびに、プレイヤーはその進捗を迅速に記録したいと思うでしょう。ゲームは、いずれかのプレイヤーのマーカーが記録トラックの右端の列に到達した時点で終了します。
The three-map system (land, water, sky) keeps every turn interesting because you're constantly weighing which track to push. Took us about two hours with four players and nobody checked their phone once.
I've played a dozen map-heavy euros and this one keeps surprising me with how tight the three tracks (land, water, sky) force you to specialize. First game ran about 90 minutes with two players and we immediately reset for a rematch.
