Publishing is the part that surprised me most — I didn't expect chaining inventions together to feel so satisfying. Our group of four finished in about two hours and immediately wanted a rematch.
The device-testing phase is what really hooked me — balancing which inventions to publish before someone else snags them keeps every turn tense. Took us about two hours to finish our first game, but nobody was watching the clock.
The tension of deciding whether to Invent or Test each turn keeps everyone engaged even when it's not their turn, and the Publishing track adds a satisfying layer of strategy.
