『サーカディアンズ：ファーストライト』の目的は、リューの惑星で研究チームを率いることです。プレイヤーは乗組員（ダイス）を管理して、惑星のさまざまな場所を訪れ、交易、農業、建設、研究を行います。プレイヤーは、現地人との交渉、資源の貯蔵庫への収穫、研究拠点のアップグレード、惑星の探検、宝石の収集でポイントを獲得します。ゲームは8ラウンドで行われます。最終ラウンドの終了時に、最も多くのポイントを獲得したプレイヤーが勝利します。
I've played a lot of worker placement games, but assigning dice to trade, farming, and construction around Ryh feels genuinely different every round. The 2nd edition components are sturdier than I expected too, especially the player boards.
We've played this five times already and the dice allocation as crew members keeps pulling us back in. The farming and construction routes offer just enough tension between building your camp and trading off-world. Setup takes a bit, but once you're on Ryh the turns flow beautifully.
The dice-as-crew mechanic is so clever—every turn you're agonizing over whether to send your best workers to farm or push further into the planet for trade. Setup takes a bit, but the board and pieces feel sturdy and thematic. Already planning our next session.
