The building tiles give you way more strategic options than I expected, and chaining a Longship build into a Jarl recruit feels genuinely satisfying. Took us about 90 minutes with three players once we stopped double-checking the rules.
The Jarl recruitment adds a nice layer of tension since you're competing for the same tiles. Building longships and structures both feed into VP, so there's real strategy in deciding when to commit. Played it three times in one weekend, which says enough.
The drafting phase keeps everyone engaged even between turns, since you’re always watching what materials your rivals are hoarding.
