The solo mode is what sold me — I can play through all six years in about an hour without needing anyone else at the table. Building out my milecastle piece by piece and watching the wall stretch across the board is weirdly satisfying.
The six-year round structure sneaks up on you—I thought I was cruising until year four hit and my wall had gaps I hadn't planned for. Solo mode plays surprisingly tight, no dead turns. It's the first game in a while where I finished and immediately wanted to reset and try a different build order.
I was honestly intimidated by the idea of tracking a wall and fort across six rounds, but the logic of placing workers each year clicks fast and the pad of sheets keeps everything satisfyingly organized.
